a new cam or old one

hi i have d8 trv740e ok i just bought it but didnt shoot with it yet and i found another cam it is minidv sony one chip is pc 120 i think but it is used many times with my freind he wants to take myd8 and give me the mini dv and i pay alittle on it the problem is i dont know the quality r near does it worth or the new cam have advanced options than the used and i mean in quality iam little confused does the cam lose quality by time or no and does ir really differ or notplz help me

To be honest, What I'd recommend is go out with your D8, do some filming, cut it together and see what the reults are like.

Do the same for the DV. Evaluate.
Repeat if necessary.
THEN decide which cam you want to use.

Asking on here is like saying
"What's better? - Pizza or Burger?" People have their own preference.

I like both, and would eat both in the same meal.
Speak to your friend, maybe (s)he will consider teaming up with you on shoots.
